Dubious Payment Page

Postby Fizzblizz » Sun Jul 29, 2012 10:45 am

Hi,

ok, I am hooked to your game. It's fun and it's well designed, from the gamplay and the visual perspective. I would now transform to a paying user, BUT after taking a look at your payment page, I am concerned about it. Why? Because your payment page looks very dubious with the following problems:

  • an unprofessional, broken design with broken images, images scaled to a wrong aspect and other strange things.
  • a wealth of "get points for free if you do this or that" offers. Just for curiosity, I clicked on some of them and I only found sites that are broken or asking more dubious questions about my medical status(!).
  • no real contact information nor any information about who'm I am giving money.
  • totally broken navigation and user interface. I had to blind click around until I found out how to change the amount of points I want to purchase.

I hope this "payment system" is just a work in progress of some kind. I am a mobile developer myself (working as a lead product manager for a 150+ people company) and I would NEVER use something that strange for a payment system. You put a large amount of work into your product and to aquire active users just to loose them with such an unprofessional payment process.

Thanks for the comprehensive feedback. We will take a better look at the current system at some point.

  • But you are right, it does look a bit cheap, yes. Obviously it's not totally our system (SuperRewards) so we can't change everything.
  • Free offers are there to people who can't or don't want to pay anything. So simply put: they accept to be spammed by completing surveys etc. in order to receive free influence. That's completely optional.
  • There should be more than just "Cabals logo" (whom I'm giving my money) to make it more obvious, yes.
  • For me, the actual payment options and choosing the point amount works without a problem. Perhaps this is a browser issue? (I tried with Firefox on my PC and Opera Mini Next on my mobile).

I believe if we had (20 x the current amount)+ employees, many things would be different. :geek:

I have used the payment page to buy influence using moneybookers and it worked just fine.

Using the free influence options... that didn't seem to work too well for me. Either they are complete spam and they didn't work due to me giving another emailaddress then the one registered to the account at kyy or some other vague reasons. Some require way too much personal information (telephone numbers) or the use of facebook, which I also didn't feel like leaving around the internet. I haven't seen one asking about my medical status, was it one of the survey ones? You might need to be either healthy/a smoker/sick or something to be eligible for some surveys, though I agree that's just ridiculious.

For me the navigation and user interface looked normal though the pictures of the offers looked stretched (Firefox on laptop).

You are correct there is no contact information on that site. You can find some here http://cabalsgame.com/support.php or just post somewhere on the forum which lappakone seems to continue F5.

I tried going the free influence route, but my spam senses went crazy.

Otherwise buying influence was pretty painless on my Android Tablet.

I would like it if in-app purchases where integrated, you can use google checkout anyway, so it seems like a small step. But I know that support different payment platforms for all the different OS versions would be a pain.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that it's a difficult challenge for a small team to address all issues at once. I have now purchased influence. See you in the game.

Thank you for supporting us. See you in the game! :D

Hopefully we are able to reduce the Loss Connection and Timeout problems a lot to provide a better Cabals Experience™ ;)

Maybe the loss of connections are due to the amount of spyware/malware that people get when attempting to get free influence through that program? ha
